Computer Aided Dispatch

Rice County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications uses a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to process all 9-1-1 calls for service. This system is used to store and retrieve data about the 9-1-1 event’s location, notes regarding calls, field units’ tracking status, and call dispositions.

The ability to enter calls into the CAD system, dispatch field responders, and share information with these units greatly increases the efficiency and speed for all public safety agencies. There are six users of the CAD system, and annually, these users processed nearly 8,000 transactions.
